99 Bottles & Cocktails
Biography & Highlights
The bass is already rattling the front glass on Katella before you even pay the cover. You're handing ten bucks to a bouncer who doesn't look up from his phone, stepping straight into a room that's loud, sticky, and packed shoulder to shoulder. 99 Bottles isn't trying to be a fancy live music showcase; it's a gritty neighborhood bar where the stage is just a corner raised off the sticky floor by a few inches.
The crowd's a mix of local punk kids, regulars nursing cheap drafts at the wood, and people who wandered in off the street because the noise drew them over. It's dark in here, lit mostly by neon beer signs humming on the brick walls and the amber glow above the register. You won't find craft cocktails or fancy lighting rigs. You'll find warm cans of Miller and guitar amps that are way too big for the room.
Sound bounces hard off the low ceiling, turning every set into a wall of noise that you feel right in your chest. If you're trying to talk to someone, forget it. You just stand near the back, dodge the pit when it opens up near the pool table, and watch the drummer sweat through his shirt.
